This news will please many fans of the MGS franchise. The film was said to be in development in 2006, but nothing really came of it. Finally, at their 25th Anniversary event for the game, it was announced that it would be picked up by Columbia Pictures.

Producer Avi Arad (of the Spider-Man trilogy) has been signed on for this flick.

No one's been attached to the script, nor has anyone been cast, but I'd imagine it'd be a good few months (if at all) before we hear anything to do with the flick. You excited?
