Around the time the cool 'found-footage' Superpower-based flick Chronicle landed, rumours began to spread about Director Josh Trank would be leading the new Fantastic Four reboot.

Now, it's confirmed that Trank will helm the new reboot with the FF.

The following comes from Variety's Showblitz:

In a major sign of confidence in his upcoming supervillain pic CHRONICLE, helmer Josh Trank has emerged as the frontrunner to direct 20th Century Fox’s reboot of Marvel’s FANTASTIC FOUR franchise, Variety's Jeff Sneider and Rachel Abrams report.

With all of the reboots around, it only makes sense to attempt one that failed, no? Or, someone could try something that hasn't been attempted yet. Sigh.

No word on who'll be starring in the flick just yet.
