Marvel plans 'Doctor Strange'

So for those of you who don't know, Doctor Strange:

“Doctor Strange can use magic to achieve virtually any effect he desires, such as telepathy, energy blasts, teleportation, astral projection, the creation of materials (such as food and water), creating planet-wide protective shields, restoring himself from bodily destruction, or resurrecting the dead. Strange is capable of stopping and reversing time on a planetary scale, sealing black holes, restoring universes, absorbing power enough to unconsciously destroy any surrounding galaxies, growing to the size of and merging with universal concepts, and helped to channel the mass of the entire Marvel Universe.”

So Marvel have received scripts from directors Thomas Donnell and Joshua Oppenheimer, and I guess we're waiting on some word on that.

Sounds pretty cool, but, is it viable? I mean, the dude can do basically everything. Might be a little overkill, I think. Another factor is, how many seats are Marvel looking to fill for this? I'm not sure how many average moviegoers know about Doctor Strange and his strange ways, but I can't imagine it being too many. Kudos to Marvel if they're aiming this towards the fans of the comic, but how much is that going to reel in? Don't get me wrong, I commend them for trying to cater to the fans, but isn't everything done for 'good business' these days?

Just sayin'
